DUBAI: England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) President, Giles Clarke, is expected to play his role as mediator to revive the planned Pak-India cricket series, Samaa reported Sunday.
According to reports, Giles Clarke will hold meetings with Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar Khan and Shashank Manohar, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President in Dubai today.
Pakistan and India are scheduled to play two Tests, five one-day and two Twenty20 matches in United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month but the series is under serious doubt after a deadlock between the two boards.
The six series between 2015 to 2023 — four to be hosted by Pakistan — were all subject to clearance from the respective governments.
Shaharyar Khan said on Friday that said England supported the resumption of ties between India and Pakistan stalled for seven years due to strained relations.
In meetings at Dubai, sources said, both heads of the cricket boards would present their stances. – Samaa/Agencies
