PM warns NAB against ‘harassing’ govt officers

PM NAB SOT NEW 16-02

BAHAWALPUR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday warned National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against ‘harassing’ government employees, Samaa reported.

“The NAB must perform its duty responsibly. They barge into houses and offices of innocent people to harass them without looking into authenticity of cases,” the PM observed.

He was addressing his party workers at Bahawalpur city of Punjab.

“They (NAB officials) dishonor people in unlawful cases, inflict hindrance, harass and terrify government officers,” the PM stated.

“I have brought this issue into NAB chairman’s notice. He must take action otherwise the government will initiate necessary and legal action,” he vowed.

In his address, the Prime Minister pledged to strengthen and empower local governments to resolve public issues.

“People have pinned great expectations with the local representations and they will be fully empowered to serve the masses,” he said.

Nawaz Sharif pointed out that the country is faced with multi-dimensional challenges including terrorism and energy crisis, saying his government “is trying its best to provide basic facilities to masses.”

“Loadshedding duration has reduced across the country since government has initiated several projects to overcome energy crisis,” he said. – Samaa
