ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction over the procedure
adopted by some countries to deport Pakistanis as it was tantamount to insulting humanity.

Neither self-respect of the Pakistanis was kept in mind nor legal formalities with regard to bilateral agreements were fulfilled
while deporting them, he said in a statement.

The minister said performance of a few Pakistani foreign missions in that regard was ‘highly disappointing,’ and a report
was being forwarded to the Prime Minister accordingly.

He said Pakistan would not accept the nationals of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burma and India having its fake citizenship documents.

The Interior Ministry, he said, had written a letter to the International Organization for Migration, asking to seek its
clearance before deporting Pakistanis.

The body had also been apprised that some European countries, including Greece, had recently deported some Pakistanis
without any intimation or verification, which was a violation of related international laws, he added.

He said the ministry had directed all the airlines to issue tickets to only those deported persons, who had confirmed data
about their Pakistani nationality.

Heavy fines would be imposed on the airlines not following Pakistan’s immigration laws as the Pakistan International Airlines
(PIA) was treated in other countries, he added.

Chaudhry Nisar said all matters would also be discussed with a European Union delegation led by its Migration Commissioner in a meeting to be held on November 23. SAMAA/APP
