RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army continued its relief and rehabilitation work in earthquake hit areas on Saturday, distributing food, blankets and tents among the affected people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the media arm of the army, said in a statement that the relief operation was being carried out in Bajaur, Chitral, Shangla, Mingora, Lower Dir and Upper Dir where relief camps have been setup.
49 ton ration, 4000 tents, 48,000 packets of food, 30,000 blankets and seven ton medicines were distributed among the victims while 16 filtration plants of potable water have also been set up, said the ISPR.
It said as many as 2,345 patients were treated in medical camps established in the quake hit areas by the Pakistan Army.
Over 350 people lost their lives when a powerful earthquake measuring 8.1 on Richter scale hit large swathes of Pakistan last Monday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appeared to be the most affected part of Pakistan, where most of the casualties and damage to property were reported. -Samaa
